CRAFTED & REFINED SINCE 1930

From the 1930’s until his passing in 1960, Olaf Ulen owned and managed a 10,000 square foot auto body shop in Mason City, Iowa. It was here he developed the Ulen’s cleaning and polishing formulas for wood, glass, chrome and painted metal surfaces.

BRANDED UNDER TAYLORWAY IN THE 1960'S

Olaf eventually closed his body shop to focus on selling the products to other auto refurbishes and detailers. After his passing, the products sat in limbo for several years until a company in Marshalltown, Iowa purchased the formulations and began to private label them to Bill Taylor under the Taylorway brand in the 1960's.

DISCOVERED BY JIM GERENCSER IN 1988

In 1988, Jim Gerencser, owner of Nationwide Auto Services, partnered with Jim Taylor and continued with the Ulen’s brand. They eventually removed the products for open sale and used them as a competitive advantage for Nationwide.
